Bohnholm, Denmark & Gdansk, Poland
Yesterday we explored Bornholm, an island of Denmark in the Baltic Sea. We visited Hammershus Castle, ancient ruins on the island. Then we went to Melsted Farm, a self sustaining farm which continued until 1982, restored as a Danish Museum to its condition in the 1860’s. Finally, we stopped at Ostlars Church, one of only a very few round churches. Today, I took a morning walk in the rain on a mostly covered second deck as a tug helped us into dock at GdaĆsk, Poland. We were bused into town for a walking tour of the town which has been restored after heavy destruction during the second world war. And it poured rain, our first real rain day.
