Stavanger, Norway

Early Sunday morning, we docked at Stavanger, located in southern Norway.  It's "old town" has many cobble streets and lots of wooden houses, many which are white, dating back to the 1700's.  The local area and the whole country have flourished with the discovery of  off-shore oil.  Even with vast quantities of oil available, Norway prides itself in being environmentally conscious with over 80 % of the automobiles in Norway being electric.

We walked through the old town and visited the Oil Museum where modern drilling techniques were demonstrated.  A few drops of rain greeted us on our walk with more rain predicted over the next few days.  We were back on board by 12:30 with a 1 PM departure for Oslo.
