Heading Home

Saturday morning in Stockholm:  Wow! We got very busy and there was no time for blogging. Well, we finished our cruise in Stockholm and spent two additional days there before departing for home. After a 2:15 AM Saturday wake-up, 45 minute drive to the airport, brief wait for check-in to open, a quick stop at the lounge, we’re on the plane heading to Amsterdam before connecting to San Francisco. Hopefully I’ll be able to publish this post before departing there. We had a great time. We’re a little tired. And, we look forward to moving back into our home with the renovation complete.

Monday morning in California:  I intended to add a few photos of our last few days and post the blog page above, but wasn't able to do so.  We started the long trip home from Stockholm, with a quick connection in Amsterdam.  Flying KLM Business Class for the first time.  We decided it was well worth it, being able to sleep lying down for a good part of our 11 hour flight from Amsterdam to SFO.  We're almost back on the correct time zone in a day and a half.  Alexa met us at San Francisco airport shortly after noon, still Saturday, and we stayed with her Saturday and Sunday for a quick visit.  This morning, we're heading home to begin moving back in our home.

After our last stop at Gdansk, Poland, our next port-of-call was Mariehamn in the Aland Islands in Sweden. We had a wonderful day sailing on a Restored Tallship with 2 masts and 5 sails in the Aland Archipelago which is a chain of over 6000 islands.  Our last stop on the cruise was Stockholm where we stayed 3 nights, one on the ship and 2 in an historic hotel on Skeppsholmen, a lovely island connected by a bridge with only a short walk to old town and down town Stockholm.  We took a guided walking food tour where we were able to enjoy the local cuisine.

Here's the Tallship before the sail
